Sharing Your EndNote Library Online

Sharing Your Library With Others Using EndNote Online

EndNote makes it easy to share your library with other students, researchers, professors, editors, or other collaborators. Sharing your library with allow others view and/or edit your references. You may want create a duplicate library solely for sharing if your personal library contains sensitive items or there are other concerns about allowing access to your library.

To share your library

Click the Share Icon -OR- File then Share...

Enter the email addresses of the people you want to share with (in order to accept your invitation, the individuals must also have EndNote.com accounts)

Set Permission to Read & Write or Read Only

Add a message if you want

Click Invite

To share particular groups

Select the group you would like to share then right-click and choose Share...

Add a message if you want

Click Invite

To access a shared library

Click File then Share

EndNote will check your account for invitations

If others have invited you to share their libraries, those libraries will appear in the following dialog

Select the library you would like to open

Click Open

EndNote will open a new library window and sync with the shared library
