Pop-up Blockers

Pop-up Blockers

A pop-up window will sometimes be required to open up articles in certain databases so depending on what web browser you are using you may need to disable the pop-up blocker in order to retrieve articles. 

Chrome

  1. Open the Chrome web browser
  2. Click on 3 horizontal dots or the red arrow at the top far right hand corner of the screen
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Under Privacy and Security, click on Content Settings or Site Settings
  5. Click on Pop-ups and Redirects
  6. Turn setting to Allowed

Firefox

  1. Open the Firefox web browser
  2. Click on the 3 horizontal lines at the top right to Open Menu
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Click on Privacy & Security
  5. Scroll down to Permissions, uncheck the box for Block pop-up windows

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge web browser
  2. Click on 3 dots on top right
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Click on Cookies and Site Permissions
  5. Under All Permissions select Pops and Redirects
  6. Under Block Pop-ups, choose Off

Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer web browser
  2. Click on Internet Options
  3. Click on Privacy
  4. Under Pop-up Blocker uncheck box

Safari

  1. Open Safari web browser
  2. From the top menu near the Apple icon click on Safari, choose Preferences from drop down menu
  3. Click on Websites
  4. Bottom right on “When visiting other websites,” choose Allow
