Sunday Closed - Juanita J. Craft Civil Rights HouseLocated in Dallas, the Juanita J. Craft Civil Rights House is one of only three house museums in the nation honoring major female figures in the modern civil rights movement.The Juanita J. Craft Civil Rights House is located at 2618 Warren Avenue in Dallas' Wheatley Place Historic District. The house is open by appointment. - San Antonio African American Community Archive and MuseumThe organization’s goal is to reclaim San Antonio’s Black history by empowering individuals to curate their own archives and cultivate a community-driven museum of digitized, audiovisual exhibits. Collective legacies of pioneering families will serve as the basis of an evolving collection. Information will be compiled and interpreted in the context of the entire City of San Antonio and throughout Bexar County.Address:

Festivals
- African American Book FestivalHeld in Austin, this festival promotes reading, writing and literature in the Black community. It also focuses on authors and cultural leaders influenced by African works. Events include keynote speeches, author interviews and local writer showcases.
- Dallas Harambee FestivalThe Harambee Festival is the oldest and largest African American cultural event in DFW. Held in October, this free community-based festival celebrates the African culture with musical performances, free health screenings, a balloon release and food trucks.
- Denton Black Film FestivalAt the Denton Black Film Festival, the organization shares stories of the Black community – it’s traditions, ideas and experiences – in a multitude of ways. Each festival, held annually in January, features Black cinema, music, art, spoken word, comedy, food and fashion.
- Houston Black Heritage FestThe Houston Black Heritage Festival promotes diversity and cultural sensitivity. It is filled with performances from artists, speakers, and world-renown musical entertainers.
- San Antonio Black International Film Festival (SABIFF)The mission of SABIFF is to support Black filmmakers and expose audiences in San Antonio and beyond, to multi-dimensional filmworks and diverse narratives from the global Diaspora.
- Urban Music FestAustin holds this festival to showcase local, regional and national artists that "lovers of R&B, Jazz, neo-soul, and gospel could enjoy."
- Waco's Juneteenth Family Fun DayJuneteenth Family Fun Day provides locals and visitors an opportunity to participate in a free festival celebrating African American heritage and independence. The event features live music, a kid zone, community zone, food, social services, health screenings and more. Local food & retail vendors are invited to showcase their best products.
