Early Childhood Education

The ACEI is a "global community of educators and advocates who unite knowledge, experience, and perspectives in order to exchange information, explore innovation and advocate for children." It provides the standards that are used for National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditations.

The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) is "a national accrediting body for schools, colleges, and departments of education authorized by the U.S. Department of Education. NCATE determines which schools, colleges, and departments of education meet rigorous national standards in preparing teachers and other school specialists for the classroom."

"Social studies educators teach students the content knowledge, intellectual skills, and civic values necessary for fulfilling the duties of citizenship in a participatory democracy. The mission of National Council for the Social Studies is to provide leadership, service, and support for all social studies educators."

The NEA's mission "is to advocate for education professionals and to unite our members and the nation to fulfill the promise of public education to prepare every student to succeed in a diverse and interdependent world."
