Intro
Welcome to the research guide for Professor Hauck's Communication, Innovation, and Education seminar!
In this guide, I've included links to and descriptions of various resources that you might find helpful as you do your research. Are you limited to using these only? Absolutely not-- however, these are places I would look myself if I were working on this project, so hopefully, you will be able to find some good stuff to help you get started on your projects!
If you have any questions or need some help, feel free to reach out to me. My contact info's on the left.
Good luck and have fun!
Best,
Ammi
Resources for general background research on makerspaces

The Maker Movement in K-12 Education: A Guide to Emerging ResearchA guide from Education Week on some research that's been done on makerspaces and the maker movement.
*Note: The author links to about half the articles they list. UTSA Libraries has access to SOME of the ones that they don't link to (they are behind a paywall, but we've paid for access to them), so try searching for them on the library website! -
Literature Supporting MakerspacesA list compiled by Megan Daley, a teacher librarian in Queensland, Australia. Her links contain many, many examples of makerspaces, rather than scholarly research on makerspaces. She also suggests books that educators, etc., can use if they're interested in starting a makerspace.
Helpful if you're very new to the idea of a makerspace and want to see what it's about.
