Copyright and Fair Use Badge

Thank you for participating in UTSA Libraries' Copyright and Fair Use Badge! 

The following are the learning objectives for this badge:

• Students will understand the basics of US copyright law, including what kind of items copyright law covers and for how long
• Students will understand exceptions to the copyright law, particularly fair use
• Students will learn the Four Factor Test and how to conduct a fair use analysis
• Students will learn when they can apply fair use in their own work and when they need to seek copyright permission and/or licensing
