Cambridge Structural Database

This guide aims at helping students use the CSD and navigate common issues.

Cambridge Structural Database Online (WebCSD)

Cambridge Structural Database requires the most current version of Java be installed and that pop-up blockers be disabled for the site to function properly.

A NOTE ON BROWSERS (Fall 2019 update):

The Cambridge Structural Database Web version (WebCSD) works best with Mozille Firefox or Google Chrome.

Cambridge Structure Database Desktop Software Suite

Cambridge Structural Database has been installed as a local program on the laptops in GroupSpot Side A. To run the program, go to Start > All Programs or search for "CSD." The CSD desktop version looks different from the web version, but you will still be able to draw structures and look up Refcodes.

The Chemistry department has installed the CSD on some computers in the BSE building. Contact the Chemistry department or drop by their main office in BSE 1.106. These computers are ony accessible Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
