Library cards are free to all residents, property owners, and business owners who own a business within the City of Leon Valley. Proof of residency or ownership is required. Persons living outside the City of Leon Valley limits may receive a Library card by: presenting a valid form of identification & proof of residence and paying a fee of $20 (or as indicated by policy).
Any Texas resident with a photo ID and current proof of residence (i.e. a utility bill) may apply for a member card, free of charge at the Schertz Public Library. More information about membership, interlibrary loan programs, and circulation policies can be found on their website.
Materials that do not circulate are reference books, periodicals, children’s textbooks, items marked "Non-Circulating," microforms, media materials, and materials housed in Special Collections. Lockers, study rooms, interlibrary loans, and certain on-line databases are not available. Coates library accepts TexShare cards.
If you are a student at a participating university, you can acquire a TexShare card and check out materials from the OLLU library using the TexShare card. If you are not able to get a TexShare card, you can sign up for a Community User card at the OLLU library. The Community User card is $25/semester and allows you to check out books for two weeks at a time. Community Users and TexShare cardholders are not able to check out DVDs or other media. If you apply and are accepted to receive a Special Privileges Card, you must pay a non-refundable fee of $35.00. You may have a maximum of 4 books checked out at one time.
