Map Locations
There are multiple locations for print maps at JPL:
> JPL 3rd Floor Map Center Cases (flat maps)
> JPL 3rd Floor Super Folio (Atlases previously on the Map Center stands)
> Offsite storage. Maps (folded maps in envelopes) (may be requested at Front Desk or using Get It For Me )
> 4th Floor Special Collections for rare maps
> Special Collections Finding Aid: A Guide to the General Map, Poster, and Broadside Collection 1519-2011
Items found in the UTSA Quick Search Catalog will indicate the map location.
Individual maps and books can be retrieved by using Get It For Me or requesting at the Front Desk.
Map Center Case - JPL 3rd Floor
The JPL 3rd Floor Map Cases contain the Library's non-folded flat maps. The Map Cases are the cabinets with the long, thin drawers. Maps located here include:
- Mexican geologic and topographic maps
- National Geographic maps
JPL 3rd Floor Super Folio - Atlases
Includes items previously on the Map Center stands, including:
- Atlas of the World (Oxford, Times, and National Geographic)
- Texas Atlas & Gazetteer
- Rand McNally Commercial Atlas & Marketing Guide (2001 and 2010 editions)
- Nuevo Atlas Nacional
- County Maps of Texas 2001
- Census Atlas of the United States: Census 2000 (also available online)
