Artists' Books

This guide will feature many of the artists' books available in UTSA Libraries Special Collections.

What Is An Artists' Book?

Artists' books are works of art in which artists use the medium of books to create small print runs or one-of-a-kind objects. This medium can often stretch the imagination of what we consider a book.

How To Access The Collection

More than 300 artists' books are located in UTSA Libraries' Special Collections. To view a complete list of the collection in the Library Catalog, do a search for "artists' books".

UTSA's Special Collections are open to all researchers. UTSA affiliation is not required, but we do ask all researchers to provide a photo ID prior to using our materials. Our Special Collections materials do not circulate, so materials must be accessed in our Reading Room on the 4th floor of the John Peace Library.
