Archival Resources

Photographs are commonly found in archival collections. Photographic materials are especially vulnerable to touch and require special precautions.

• Photographs are easily damaged by fingerprints and skin oils. Please use cotton gloves provided by staff.
• Even while using gloves, try to handle photographs by the edges and avoid touching the surface.
• If photographs are in albums or protective plastic sleeves, do not remove them.
