Cambridge Structural Database
This guide aims at helping students use the CSD and navigate common issues.
Cambridge Structural Database Online (WebCSD)
The Cambridge Structural Database Web version (WebCSD) works best with Mozille Firefox or Google Chrome.

Cambridge Structural Database (WebCSD) This link opens in a new windowCambridge Structural Database (CSD) is the principal repository for 3D crystal structures of organic and metal-organic compounds determined by X-ray and neutron diffraction. Structure data is drawn from the chemical literature and direct deposit. The web version, called WebCSD, is a user-friendly search and display tool that is ideal for quick lookups, teaching, and occasional users. The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Center site also has demos, tutorials, free software, and many links of interest to crystallographers.
Cambridge Structure Database Desktop Software Suite
The Chemistry department has installed CSD desktop version on some computers in the BSE building. To run the program, go to Start > All Programs or search for "CSD." The CSD desktop version looks different from the web version, but you will still be able to draw structures and look up Refcodes.
For more information, including hours, contact the Chemistry department using the link below or drop by their main office in BSE 1.106.
