The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a professional body founded in 1852 to represent members of the civil engineering profession worldwide. The ASCE represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Through the expertise of its active membership, ASCE is a leading provider of technical and professional conferences and continuing education, the world’s largest publisher of civil engineering content, and an authoritative source for codes and standards that protect the public.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe via continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach.

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is an international learned society for computing. It was founded in 1947, and is the world's largest scientific and educational computing society. The ACM is a non-profit professional membership group, with more than 100,000 members as of 2011.

The Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists (AEG) contributes to its members’ professional success and the public welfare by providing leadership, advocacy, and applied research in environmental and engineering geology. AEG is the acknowledged international leader in environmental and engineering geology, and is greatly respected for its stewardship of the profession. AEG offers information on environmental and engineering geology useful to practitioners, scientists, students, and the public.

Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP) is made up of professors in academic programs throughout the world who provide education in the sciences and technologies of environmental protection. AEESP members include faculty, students, and affiliates in the fields of environmental engineering and environmental engineering science. The Association assists its members in improving education and research programs, encourages undergraduate and graduate education, and serves the profession by providing information to government agencies and the public. Direct services provided to members include publication of the journal, Environmental Engineering Science, hosting biennial research and education conferences, coordinating recognition of excellence in research, teaching, and service, and providing a forum for the exchange of information relevant to the field including newsletters, online media, workshops, and lectures.

The Computing Research Association (CRA) is a non-profit association of North American academic departments of computer science, computer engineering, and related fields; laboratories and centers in industry, government, and academia engaging in basic computing research; and affiliated professional societies.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association whose scope of interest covers many related fields. As of 2018, it is the world's largest association of technical professionals with more than 423,000 members in over 160 countries around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) mission is "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community." The society provides a wide range of activities which include high school/junior high outreach programs, technical seminars and workshops, a national communications network (NSBENET), two national magazines (NSBE Magazine and NSBE Bridge), an internal newsletter, a professional newsletter (Career Engineer, a supplement in NSBE Magazine), resume books, career fairs, awards, banquets and an annual national convention.

The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) is an American professional association representing licensed professional engineers. NSPE is represented in 52 state (and territorial) organizations and over 400 local chapters

SAE International, initially established as the Society of Automotive Engineers, is a U.S.-based, globally active professional association and standards developing organization for engineering professionals in various industries. Principal emphasis is placed on transport industries such as automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicles. SAE International has over 138,000 global members. Aside from its standardization efforts, SAE International also devotes resources to projects and programs in STEM education, professional certification, and collegiate design competitions.

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) empowers the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support, and development. SHIPE values include "Familia" (collective strength), service, education, and resilience. SHIPE includes >11K members, >9K annual events, >200 student & professional chapters, and >200 Sponsors and partners.
